An Unfortunate Update + The Future
Hey everyone. So, I guess it’s better to just rip the band aid off now before making everything too long-winded. The blog series is done… kind of.
The simple “why” of this decision is pretty simple; I am burnt out. Not just on VS stuff, but just in life in general. Without going into too much detail, it’s been kicking me while I’m down quite a bit, and it’s just been really hard to find motivation to engage in my favorite side stuff. This is especially true when talking about blogs. Doing research, making images and even just typing all of it out eventually became homework rather than something I did for fun, which was the original purpose. All I wanted to do was make something fun with my online friends and show my appreciation to a community that I had grown to really love. But after a while, it all just became futile. The longer gaps in releases, general disinterest from the community in comparison to other creators, it just made me realize… what’s even the point of doing this anymore? Why should I just dump my efforts and time into something that I ultimately won’t feel satisfied with later on down the line?
Adding on the insanely high quality some recent blogs have been showcasing, certain ones making my own practically obsolete and making me feel inadequate in comparison, it was just becoming increasingly hard to find the motivation to do them anymore. So I think the unfortunate conclusion I came to was that I just need to stop. It just isn’t fun for me anymore and I don’t think that the effort will be worth it in the end. I really am sorry to anyone who was looking forward to the stuff I had revealed, but I simply don’t think that I’m the guy to deliver something of any real quality.
Now I said “kind of” earlier, and that’s because there is always the possibility that I could return to the blogs once I’m in a better place mentally and in life, so this isn’t really a hard cancellation, more of an indefinite hiatus. A lot of the original blogs will stay up if you wish to still read them, and I may occasionally post other stuff on there as well. I have a few ideas, but it’s a “maybe” all the same.
I’m also not gonna stop writing. A good friend of mine has recently gained an interest in Death Battle, and has talked to me about starting their own written VS series with me as help. We haven’t really finalized a lineup or anything, but I do want to go back to that kind of writing; it feels way less restrictive than the traditional blog format, and I feel like I’d just have more fun during the process. If we eventually do decide to launch it, we’ll give you more details down the line, so stay tuned if you’re interested. I really didn't want this to be like, super sad or angsty or whatever, but I guess it's hard to do so with an announcement like this. Like I said, sorry to anyone who was actually looking forward to stuff like Hunter vs Ashen One, but I think this is just the better option for me moving forward. Hopefully you understand.
